Tran Hung Yen Temple is the place to worship the national hero Tran Hung Dao, embodying the nation’s principle of “drinking water, remembering the source”. <\/font>The temple was ranked as a national historical and cultural relic in 1992 and is located in the famous Pho Hien relic complex, becoming a spiritual spot that attracts people and tourists to visit and worship. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

History of Tran Hung Yen Temple<\/font><\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

During the resistance war against the Yuan Mongols in the 13th century, Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan (Tran Hung Dao) was stationed here, taking advantage of the three river confluence to fight the enemy, contributing to the war. so 3 times great victory, especially the famous Bach Dang victory in 1288.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Later, the people remembered his great merit, so he built a temple to worship him. <\/font>In the 16th year of Tu Duc (1863), Tran Hung Yen temple was built, and completed in the 22nd year of Tu Duc (1869). <\/font>During the reign of King Thanh Thai (1903), the temple was restored, embellished and has the same architecture as it is today. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Architecture of Tran Hung Yen<\/font><\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

Temple The temple is located on a beautiful land, overlooking the blue Crescent Lake all year round. <\/font>The gate of the ritual gate is built in the style of two floors and eight roofs. On the neck of the match are written the words “Kan Qi dau Quang” (the patriotic spirit shines), below the rolling door is “Tran Dai Vuong Tu” (Tran Dai Vuong temple). .<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

The overall architecture of the temple is in the style of Tam, including: Dai Bai, Trung Tu and the harem. <\/font>The hall consists of 5 compartments, architectural style because of the stack of gongs, the song is carved with a stylized dragon’s head. <\/font>The middle room hangs the great letter “Sage in hope” (admiring the talented person). <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

The middle building also has 5 compartments, the structure of the hitchhiking truss is simple, the smooth plan is sharp, there is no pattern. <\/font>The side adjacent to the harem hangs the big letter “Virgins like Heaven” (the merits of saints are as vast as heaven). <\/font>Adjacent to the middle word are 3 harem compartments, worshiping Tran Hung Dao and his entire family. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Tran Pho Hien Temple still preserves many valuable antiques, including 8 ordinations, 5 steles, 40 statues… <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Tran Hung Yen Temple Festival<\/font><\/font><\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year, the temple festival is held twice, on the 8th day of the third lunar month (anniversary of the Bach Dang victory) and the 20th day of the 8th lunar month (the anniversary of the death of Tran Hung Dao). <\/font>During the festival, there will be sacrifices, processions, and contests for banh day and banh chung, attracting a large number of local people and tourists from all over the world to attend. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n
