On the morning of February 9 (ie the 10th day of the first lunar month), the People’s Committee of Dong Xuan commune (Dong Hung) held the opening ceremony of Thien Quy pagoda festival. <\/font>Comrade Dang Trong Thang, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee attended.<\/font><\/font><\/div>\n

Thien Quy Pagoda, built during the Ly Dynasty, is one of the temples with the most beautiful Buddha image in the province. <\/font>In 1989, Thien Quy Pagoda was granted the recognition of “National-level cultural and historical relic”. <\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Every year at the beginning of Spring, Thien Quy Pagoda festival is solemnly held, praying for favorable weather, people’s prosperity and happiness with many rich activities such as: offering incense, sacrificing male and female mandarins; <\/font>games of tug of war, cockfighting; <\/font>contest of singing birds to greet crests and birds; <\/font>badminton, table tennis competitions; <\/font>cultural exchange between villages in the commune\u2026<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This year’s festival lasts for 6 days, from the 10th to the 15th day of the first lunar month. <\/font>At the opening ceremony, a large number of officials, people in the commune, and tourists from across the country witnessed the unique dragon dance, four spirit dance, and five-color procession of the village.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
