Banh To – Taste of Quang Nam New Year. <\/font>According to legend, the cake was made by Au Co’s mother and distributed to hundreds of children along the way when going up the mountain and into the sea. <\/font>There is also a story that told that banh to appeared at the end of the 18th century under Quang Trung, when the king marched to the North to defeat the Qing army, who made this cake to ensure food along the way.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n

Banh To is made from 2 main ingredients: sticky rice and sugar. <\/font>The starting materials must be selected to be the best type to make the cake both chewy and flexible, with a sweet taste, not a sweet one. <\/font>The cake is shaped like a bowl wrapped around a layer of banana leaves. <\/font>Not called the nest cake but called the nest cake. <\/font>Cakes are white, ivory, milky or black depending on the amount and type of sugar used for processing. <\/font>The top of the cake is sprinkled with a layer of sesame (sesame), when holding the cake, you will immediately feel the aroma of sesame mixed with the cake. <\/font>There are many ways to enjoy this delicious cake. <\/font>Can be eaten raw, grilled or deep-fried. <\/font>When eaten raw, you can feel the sweetness of sugar, the spiciness of ginger and the plasticity of glutinous rice. <\/font>If baking, the aroma of glutinous rice will rise, the hot sugar will be sweeter and more flavorful. It’s great to eat with rice paper as well. <\/font>There are tourists who like to eat crispy fried cakes, subtly fragrant. <\/font>A slice of crispy cake sandwiched with scones is the favorite choice of many visitors. <\/font>Banh Toi also has another good thing that can be kept for a long time, gradually eating for a whole month. <\/font>So visitors can buy them as gifts for friends and relatives.<\/font><\/font><\/p>\n
