At the beginning of summer, we went to visit Phja Oac – Phja Den National Park. The garden was established on January 11, 2018 with a total natural area of 10,593.5 hectares in the communes: Thanh Cong, Quang Thanh, Phan Thanh, Hung Dao and Tinh Tuc town (Nguyen Binh).

Along the road there are valleys, basins and slopes interspersed between low and medium mountain ranges. Distributed around the garden area is a village, along the streams there are terraced fields, the hillsides are grown with rice, cassava, corn… and tea, department, and truffle trees. From provincial road 212 to the top of Phja Oac 5.2 km long is an experience for us.
The way up steeply steep, we passed many different areas from the rocky forest ecosystem interspersed with the secondary forest ecosystem. Everyone clearly feels the weather of the four seasons here is no different from Sa Pa (Lao Cai), Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc), Mau Son (Lang Son)… Nature has bestowed on Phja Oac – Phja Den fresh air environment, cool climate.
In particular, this place also hides many natural wonders, made up of high mountains and green forests, forest vegetation with bold wild features of the year-round cloud-covered mountains and forests. creating a harmonious, poetic and extremely attractive landscape picture. This is an advantage to develop eco-tourism and resort tourism.
According to the classification system of Vietnam’s forest vegetation by Prof. Dr. Thai Van Trung, the forest here belongs to the type of “closed evergreen subtropical moist rain forest”. With the results of previous research and additional investigation in 2016 by the Sub-Institute of Forest Survey and Planning in the Northeast, 1,287 species of 786 genera in 202 plant families of 6 plant branches have been discovered in the garden; in which there are many rare plant species listed in the Red Book of Vietnam…
Up to the top of Phja Oac, the temperature drops, the wind is stronger, the highest point is 1,931 m, which is likened to the “roof” of the western part of the province, where the Antena tower broadcasting National Radio – Television is 75 m high. .

In Phja Oac – Phja Den National Park, in addition to the rich flora, the fauna is also very diverse.
Currently, the forest has 496 species of vertebrates, in addition to thousands of species of invertebrates, insects… Among the animals named in the list, 58 species of rare and precious animals have been identified. , including 30 species of mammals listed in the Red Book of Vietnam; there are 12 species of reptiles, of which 3 are classified as critically endangered; There are 3 species of amphibians, of which 2 are critically endangered.
This is an extremely rare resource, these animal genetic resources have high economic and conservation value that should be included in the list of species prioritized for conservation under the Law on Biodiversity. In terms of geology, Phja Oac – Phja Den National Park is located in the planning of Cao Bang Non Nuoc Geopark, with a limestone mountain area with underground rivers. As a favorable environment for scientific research and environmental education, it is an ideal place for researchers, especially for research on biodiversity.

The garden has many famous landmarks such as Colea pass, Taslom red house, Tai Soong red house, French colonial red house, Vong Tien Cung ancient temple…, these landscapes create a magnificent landscape complex with cultural identity. nationalization of the people here. Coming to Phja Oac – Phja Den National Park, visitors will be immersed in the life of the highland people. There are 1,850 households of the Dao, Nung, Tay, Kinh and Mong ethnic groups living here. The Mong people are famous for their tradition and practice of shifting cultivation to grow rice, maize and other crops.

The planning for eco-tourism development of Phja Oac – Phja Den National Park to 2030 is expanded and developed based on the value of resources and at the same time serving conservation. The goal is to strive for the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting by 2020 to reach 15,000 arrivals/year, in 2030 to reach 30,000 arrivals/year, of which about 5,000 – 10,000 will stay overnight.
Therefore, it is necessary to focus on propaganda and image promotion and call for investment.
