Where is Cuong Temple? Who does Cuong Nghe An Temple worship? These are common questions of many tourists when arriving in this central land. The explanation of Cuong Nghe An temple said that this work is a national historical and cultural relic,  located on Mo Da mountain, about 30km north of Vinh city . From Vinh city center, visitors just need to move along Thang Long street, go to National Highway 1A, then continue 16km to Cuong temple.

Cuong Nghe An Temple is currently worshiping An Duong Vuong. This is not only a work of cultural and historical value, but also a very solid architecture. Specifically, the temple was built according to the “tam” architecture. 

The Tam Quan area was built massively, over time, this area also has an ancient moss layer. In the central hall of the temple, it was built in the style of a stack of matches with 8 roofs. There is an altar to worship Cao Lo – a talented general who helped King Thuc at that time successfully craft a magic crossbow.

For other buildings, 4-roof architecture is applied to create stability and surface for the temple. Besides, every detail and pattern are delicately carved, showing the meticulousness and feat of the work.

2.2. The legend of Cuong temple in Nghe An is sacred and mysterious

• Legend of King An Duong Vuong and Princess My Chau martyred:  The legend of An Duong Vuong is very familiar to Nghe An people. There are many strange stories such as: The rice stone on Mo Da mountain, the custom of making votive papers in sacrifices… An Duong Vuong and Mi Chau’s martyrdom are also tragic stories handed down to this day. 
• The story of the white crane ascending to heaven:  In 1995, when people were watching the horse-riding parade, a large, white crane appeared on the rider’s arm. At that time, this was a story that attracted many people’s attention in Nghe An. According to oral tradition, the white crane is the incarnation of My Chau who came to join the festival with the people of Nghe An. 
• The story of the whale stranded:  When the story of the white crane has not subsided, during the festival that year, a 10 ton whale washed up in the local waters. The place where the whales drifted was the place where An Duong Vuong committed suicide. Later, this place was also established a shrine. 

2.3. Cuong Nghe An Temple Festival is famous near and far

The Cuong Nghe An Temple Festival 2020 as well as every year is held on March 11 (that is, on February 14 of the lunar calendar). The festival takes place within 4 days, attracting the participation of many tourists and locals.

• The part of the ceremony  includes the opening ceremony, the ceremony of the middle heaven, the ceremony of listing – great – thanksgiving. In addition, there is an extra ceremony. Those in charge of the ceremony must wear the correct attire according to regulations. 
• Procession activities:  People carry out a palanquin procession from Cao family church, Xuan Ai communal house to Cuong Nghe An temple. 
• The festival  was organized with many special activities such as ferris wheel, throwing con, going to the bridge, card flags, singing folk songs for miles…
