Sung Pagoda was destroyed many times, Buddha statues and worshiping objects were lost. Only 2 stone steles and 1 bronze bell still stand the test of time. The most notable of which is a national treasure – a stele erected during the reign of King Tran Du Tong in 1367. The stele is proportionately placed on the back of a stone turtle.

The beer forehead is wrapped in a unique bow-shaped decorative tape divided into three cells:

  • The center box is engraved with the image of Amitabha Buddha sitting on a two-tiered lotus. On each side there is a disciple standing with his hands clasped in front of his chest.
  • The two symmetrical boxes next to it are engraved with two flying dragons, their heads raised towards the lotus.

According to the researchers, this beer forehead is a special decorative combination. Never seen on any other steles now known in our country.

It was built in 1989 by the people here and pilgrims from all over the world. It is located on the old temple but is smaller and lower.

With a simple architecture, Sung Khanh Pagoda was built in the shape of the word “Nhat”, with only one main hall with an area of ​​26m2, 4.3m high. The pagoda has a main door and two side doors on both sides, brick walls, tiled roofs and walls. The main entrance is a place to worship Buddha built with a pedestal to place some worship items. On the altar, there is a picture of Quan Am Buddha instead of a Buddha image.

To the left of the altar is a stone stele where the merits of those who contributed to the construction of this Sung Khanh temple are recorded. The beer has high architectural value because of its unique architecture and carved patterns. The stele has a height of 0.09m, a width of 0.05, and on the stele there is a carved image of a two-dragon worshiping the Goddess of Mercy. On the surface of the stele is engraved an epitaph written by Phung Doc Cac, Thu Su of Ta Thuc Ngao in March 1367.

In addition to the stone stele, Sung Khanh Pagoda also hangs a bell cast in the year of the temple’s restoration, after the Le dynasty (1705), the bell is hung on the right side of the altar. The bell has a height of 0.90m, the edge of the bell mouth is carved with many sophisticated patterns.

On the 3rd and 4th day of the Lunar New Year every year, people from all ethnic groups in the region gather here to celebrate the spring festival. People organize a lot of games with the local traditional national identity: throwing, tug of war, and interweaving some modern sports games such as volleyball, football, creating an extremely atmosphere. fun, bustling.

In 1999, the pagoda was recognized as a national historical relic. With the permission of Ha Giang Provincial People’s Committee.

In 2008, Sung Khanh Pagoda received 6 Buddha statues donated by Buddhists in Hanoi. Ha Giang Provincial Museum and Vi Xuyen District Culture and Information Office. In conjunction with the People’s Committee of Dao Duc Commune, the procession and placement of the Buddha images were held in the historical relic of Sung Khanh Pagoda.

Sung Khanh Pagoda is an attractive destination for tourists. Because this temple has a beautiful position with its back leaning against the low mountains.
