On October 9, 2004 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the capital, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. Hanoi has given a new name to Thanh Cong Lake Park as Indira Gandhi Park. Indira Gandhi is one of the most prominent typical statesmen after India’s independence. She was Prime Minister of India from 19 January 1966 to 24 March 1977, and the second from 14 January 1980 until her assassination on 31 October 1984.
