King Le Dai Hanh’s temple is called Ha temple and is located in the special relic area of Hoa Lu ancient capital

Built at the same time as the temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang (17th century), the temple of King Le Dai Hanh has architecture quite similar to the temple of King Dinh and retains the architecture and sculpture of the Later Le period. The temple of King Le was also built according to the structure of foreign and domestic construction, but the only difference from King Dinh’s temple is that you enter the temple through the east gate with the word Vu and no stone thresholds with prominent ancient stones.

Legend has it that King Le Dai Hanh’s temple was built on the old foundation of the royal palace in Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. In 1998, archaeologists excavated an area of 200 square meters south of the temple grounds to confirm this.

Temple of King Le Dai Hanh has three buildings including: Bai Duong, Burning incense, Main palace. This temple has a low design, the beams, columns and many paintings are painted gilded, creating an ancient majesty but no less magnificent and fanciful.

Bai Duong has five compartments, with three large plates painted with gilded vermilion. The sign in the middle has four Chinese characters: Truong Xuan Linh Tich. The signboard on the right has three Chinese characters: Duong Than Vu. The signboard on the left has three Chinese characters: Export Thanh Minh. Next to the Bai Duong building is the Burning incense court built in the style of a tubular architecture. In Burning incense, the four pillars of the Tien Le dynasty were worshiped.

Finally, the Burning incense court is the Main Palace consisting of five compartments, in which the statue of King Le Dai Hanh is placed on a stone pedestal in the middle. Statue of King Le sitting on a throne, wearing a Binh Thien hat with a majestic face. The space to the left of the statue of King Le Dai Hanh is where the statue of Queen Duong Van Nga is located, also known as the statue of Queen Mother Bao Quang. The remaining right room is placed on a stone pedestal with the statue of Le Long Dinh (Le Ngoa Trieu) who is the 5th son of King Le Dai Hanh and the 3rd king of the Former Le Dynasty.

This is the place to worship King Le Dai Hanh, Queen Duong Van Nga and some other historical figures of the Former Le Dynasty

The statue of Queen Duong Van Nga is also placed next to the statue of the king

The most noticeable unique feature here is that the main path leading to the temple is paved with clean tiles, it leads the way through foreign rituals. On the left is a 3 m high rockery, carved with the image of a phoenix bird looking very majestic. To the right of the house, there is also a rockery and a bamboo tree over 300 years old. And yet, in Nghi Mon, there are two opposite flower gardens, adjacent are two rows of houses and a rockery shaped like Long and Phuong. In the middle of the yard is a stone floor with a unique architecture and sculpture of the Later Le period.
