According to incomplete statistics of author Nguyen Duoc – Trung Hai in the book “Vietnamese place name handbook” published in 1998, there are 7 Vong Phu islands in the whole country, but familiar and known. Most are still Vong Phu island in Lang Son with the name “Nang To Thi”. Currently, this unique stone statue is located on the mountain of the Nhi – Tam Thanh scenic area complex, the Mac citadel in Tam Thanh ward, Lang Son city. In 1962, this relic, including To Thi mountain, was ranked at the national level by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

To have real experiences, on a first day of October 2021, we came to the ruins of the Mac Dynasty citadel – To Thi Mountain. In our opinion, the road to the stone statue is spacious, clean and easier to go than before. Ms. Luong Thi Sinh, Head of the Management Team of the relic site, the City’s Cultural and Sports Center said: Twice a month, we come here to clean and sanitize around the statue area. In 2018 and 2019, the unit printed 20,000 folded volumes introducing the value of relics in the Nhi – Tam Thanh relic area, including the stone statue of To Thi Phat to visitors.

In the management and conservation of relics, since 2018, after being handed over for management, the city’s authorities and functional branches have had many solutions to renovate and embellish in order to gradually preserve and promote them. heritage value. Specifically, the City People’s Committee has coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to plant 600 new peach trees here to create a landscape in the relic area. In July 2020, the City People’s Committee implemented a project to restore the Nhi – Tam Thanh relic area, To Thi mountain, and the Mac citadel with a total cost of over 10 billion VND. In particular, for the To Thi mountain relic, it was carried out to replace the information board system and install a lighting system at the stone statue (2 100W lights) and the foot of To Thi mountain (5 100W lights). .

In addition, in 2019, the City People’s Committee coordinated with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Social Sciences and Humanities), Hanoi National University to organize a seminar on the Nhi – Tam Thanh scenic relic site, To Thi mountain, the city. Mac Dynasty with the topic “Cultural heritage and tourism potential” in which there is research content to clarify the value of the symbol of Vong phu island – Miss To Thi. Ms. Pham Thi Thuan, Deputy Head of the City’s Culture and Information Office, said: From 2019 to now, the Department of Culture and Information has built and published more than 20 propaganda articles about the relic system. City’s cultural heritage, including To Thi mountain relic on the city’s website, fanpage “Lang Son city – city of peach blossoms”.

The most unique feature of the stone statue of To Thi is the highest crystallization of the loyalty and loyalty of the women of Lang land in general and Vietnamese women in particular.

Through this, it can be seen that, along with other relics, the stone statue of To Thi associated with To Thi mountain has long become the “brand” of identity and uniqueness of Lang Son culture.
