The history of the war zone has undergone many changes over time, places and boundaries have changed. Previously, this land belonged to Van Chan district, now belongs to Tran Yen district. In 1945, today’s Van Hoi commune was called Minh Phu commune; On January 6, 1946, the inter-commune Minh Phu – Dong Phu – Phu Thinh – Phu Luong called Viet Cuong commune; On 23/3/1949, Viet Cuong commune was divided into 2 communes Hong Duc and Viet Cuong; On January 1, 1951, three communes Viet Cuong, Hong Duc and Minh Quan were merged into Viet Hong commune; On January 4, 1954, Viet Cuong commune was separated into 3 communes: Viet Hong, Viet Cuong and Minh Quan; June 6, 1988, according to Decision No. 101/QD-HDBT of the Council of Ministers dividing Viet Hong commune into 2 communes: Viet Hong commune and Van Hoi commune. Van village is a valley surrounded by mountains with an average height of 200 to 500m, the valley is 4.5 km long, the road is difficult to travel, today is structured by the foot of terraced fields. , after the revolution discovered by the people (with a low difference) now called Dong Tro, Dong Cay Gao… with a rhyme running along the village. This is also the confluence of 3 small nibs to create the rhyme nib. The terrain is treacherous, in the past there was only one way to the village and had to go through the pass. Dong Yen Village : About 4 km east of Van village and more than 3 km west of Hien Luong, is a village located between Van and Hien Luong. A great event took place here, on June 30, 1945, the Inter-provincial Committee of Phu – Yen (Phu Tho – Yen Bai) was established – an important historical milestone marking the formation of the War Zone. led by Comrade Ngo Minh Loan as the revolutionary leader of the two provinces of Yen Bai and Phu Tho. From here, it has expanded to Lao Cai and a part of Son La.
