Located at an altitude of nearly 1,400 meters above sea level, Suoi Giang has a cool climate all year round. The average temperature is usually 8-10 degrees Celsius lower than that of Van Chan district and Nghia Lo town. One day in Suoi Giang, we can feel all four seasons of the year. It’s chilly at night; in the early morning clouds covered the floating villages; In the afternoon the sky is clear and windy and in the afternoon – golden sunshine spreads smoothly over the hillsides. Therefore, the climate in Suoi Giang can be compared with Sapa and Da Lat. Not only has a cool climate, Suoi Giang has majestic natural landscapes and unique cultural features of the Mong, Dao, and Thai people here.

Coming to Suoi Giang, visitors cannot help but be surprised by the hundreds of years old tea hills, the famous aroma both at home and abroad. A scientist had to exclaim that: “I have been to 120 countries in the world, but I have never seen a perennial tea tree as big as that in Suoi Giang”.

The ancient tea trees in Suoi Giang live at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, the trees are less than a hundred years old, and the old trees are more than 300 years old. The young buds are still green on the rough, white, moldy tea stems, firmly rooted on the craggy mountainside, creating a unique landscape of ancient tea gardens. Tea is picked, copied by the experience and skillful hands of the Mong people. The firm tea buds are covered with a translucent white coat, so they are called snow tea.

Shan Tuyet Suoi Giang tea is very unique, in a bowl of green tea, the top flavors of the world-class teas are gathered in the bowl of green tea. Visitors come here not only “adventure” under the ancient tea canopy, but also experience the activities of picking tea, making tea stars, enjoying tea. Hand picking fresh tea buds, one shrimp, two leaves, sipping the acrid taste and then enjoying the sweet aftertaste of the tea, there’s nothing more exciting than that,” said Thu Thuy from Yen Bai city.

Up to Suoi Giang, visitors can enjoy high-class dining and accommodation services right next to the ancient tea fields. Recently, Suoi Giang Tourism Ecosystem Cooperative boldly invested tens of billions of dong to build Suoi Giang Cultural Space.

From this cultural space, visitors can see the roofs of the Mong people hidden among the mountains and clouds; enjoy a quiet resting space amidst the vast green tea plantations; to enjoy ethnic specialties, including strange dishes mixed in the taste of ancient tea such as: grilled meat roll with tea leaves, young tea leaves eaten raw with herbs; enjoy tea through a very sophisticated brewing process performed by artisans who have undergone training in the art of tea making.

In recent years, Suoi Giang has had a very strong and large-scale investment to promote tourism development, especially for community tourist sites and service businesses, towards green tourism services, identity.

Along with tourism activities to experience, enjoy tea, explore indigenous culture, explore caves, now in addition to the tea culture space in Suoi Giang commune, the Mong people of Suoi Giang have built 2 tourist resorts.
