During the resistance war against the US imperialists, Ham Rong Bridge became a strategic military hotspot. In 1972, the United States used a laser-guided smart bomb to destroy the bridge, causing it to be almost completely destroyed, and the traffic route was paralyzed.
This bridge has a long history full of heroic and tragic. In 1904 the French began to build Ham Rong bridge with a steel arch.
