The pagoda is often called Huong Lang pagoda or Lang pagoda, located in Minh Hai commune, My Van district, Hung Yen province. The temple belongs to the Northern sect.

The pagoda was built in the Ly Dynasty, around 1115. This is one of 72 temples and pagodas founded by Le Hau to exonerate the 72 court ladies of King Ly Thanh Tong’s reign.

The pagoda collapsed in 1954. The pagoda also left a number of relics of the Ly and Tran dynasties such as stone pillars, stone crocodiles and especially a lion statue. The statue is part of a very large stone slab 2.8m long, 1.5m wide, 0.9m high, used as a pedestal for a statue (now no longer available). People only touch and cut the 2 ends of the stone slab, turning it into the head and back part of a spirit animal, locally called “Mr Thunder”.

This ruins has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a national historical and cultural relic.
