Tham Temple is a temple dedicated to a general named Tham, who made a great contribution to the struggle against the Black Flag in the second half of the 19th century. The temple has many sacred values, and it has been passed down through many generations of the people of Bac Kan.

STORY ABOUT THE MY FAMILY

The story goes that Tham’s father and son worked as a fisherman to make a living. One year there was a natural disaster. The flood swept away the poor old man’s boat and net. When the water began to recede, that was when he began to cast his net. He threw many batches, but there were no fish, in the end he got a very heavy batch but it was a rock. The next time he threw it like that, the rock was also in the net. Strange thing, so he was going to cross another river.

The rock said, “Old man, bring me back.” Feeling strange, he immediately brought the miracle stone home, where he threw it on the ground, the stone collided with another rock, breaking into shiny ingots. He thought that God loved the villagers who had natural disasters, so he took the gold and divided it among the villagers. Since then, people have built a temple of two Son Than stones at Tham temple to commemorate the father and son.

THE STORY ABOUT THE MYSTERY

Ms. Tham is a beautiful, gentle and kind girl, so she is loved by many people, and everyone wants to be with her. Unfortunately, the Muong lord used my power to capture her as his wife. Since then, her life has been miserable, and that Muong lord is an enemy minion who torments the villagers.

She found a way to escape and succeeded. She gathered the villagers to fight the enemy, and became a female leader of the Black Flag battle. Hearing that news, the Muong lord led his army to destroy, so a fierce battle occurred at the confluence of the Trang Co river. Miss Tham was hit by a poisonous arrow, so she bravely sacrificed herself in that battle. Her troops determined to be brave, fighting to avenge her. And later, to commemorate the brave heroine, the people built Tham temple.

Tham temple is quite a complex, it includes the main temple, the temple of Ms Tham and the temple of Son Than. In the main temple, there is a characteristic architecture with parallel paintings that have existed for a long time. Tham temple, under the altar has a special pattern, a pair of phoenix birds with architectural style of the Hau Le period, 18th century.
