Kim Thao is one of four communes of Lam Thao canton, Luong Tai district, Bac Ninh province; The annual Kim Thao village festival is held with many unique traditional rituals, bearing the characteristics of the Northern Delta countryside. The communal house of Kim Thao village is not only a long-standing architectural work of the local people but also a place to preserve typical cultural and religious activities of the community, contributing to the preservation of indigenous culture.

The communal house of Kim Thao village was built during the Le Dynasty (about the 17th century), honoring three Citadel Emperors Vinh Du, Phu Linh, and Thien Minh who were the sons of the longan – historian Le Van Huu, who had merit in fighting the enemy to keep for a peaceful country. The communal house has a large scale and is located at the exact location today. Currently, the relic still preserves quite intact architectural works with wooden structures, decorative carvings of Le – Nguyen architecture, on the system of cones, seals, levers…
