2. Legend of Ma Hao waterfall in Lang Chanh district
An old story tells that: Under King Le Loi (15th century), during a time when leading an insurgent army against the Minh invaders, Le Loi and his army ran with a dog into the mountain. When being cornered to the foot of the waterfall, the dog jumped over the waterfall, and the dog risked his life to bite the ferocious dogs of the enemy, and then fell exhausted into the whirlpool. After it was safe, Le Loi had the soldiers find and bury the dog at the foot of the waterfall. Accordingly, Le Loi named the waterfall Ma Hao (Thai means yawning dog), then changed it to Ma Hao.
