Huyen Dinh mountain range is a famous mountain carrying many legends handed down in folklore and ancient books. Along with Luc River, Huyen Mountain has long become a beautiful symbol and pride for not only the people of Luc Nam district, but also the pride of Bac Giang.

With an average altitude of about six hundred meters, the terrain is dangerous and interesting. Many architectural works of ancient pagodas and towers of great scale in the Huyen Dinh mountain area were built by Truc Lam’s ancestors in the 13th-14th centuries. However, due to the time and events of the nation’s history, many of these ancient temples have been abandoned and ruined, leaving only the architectural foundations and ancient materials.

Son Thap Pagoda: located in Cam Ly commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province. The pagoda was built in the 13th century, today there are still traces of the foundation and an ancient tower. This is where Zen Master Phap Van passed away. The pagoda has a stupa of the Most Venerable Huyen Co Thien Tho Phap Van, today the tower has collapsed, the temple has dissolved, local people rebuilt it into a small temple on the old foundation for tourists from all over the world to worship Buddha.

Yen Ma Pagoda: located not far from Son Thap pagoda, only about 1km on a mountain road, but Yen Ma pagoda in Bac Lung commune, Luc Nam district is a complex of foundations of massive architectural works including buildings: Tam Bao, kitchen, guest house…the foundations, yard, steps, building materials, ancient wells, Buddha’s footprints…the pagoda looks towards Con Son-Kiep Bac. In particular, this place also preserves the footprints of Buddha Bodhidharma on a large rock next to the ancient well. Besides, some of the remaining items of the pagoda here such as stone mortars, pottery, foot blocks, terracotta brick and tile materials of the Tran Dynasty are still very much. Unfortunately, this temple is too far from the residential area, so what is left is just derelict.

Bat Nha pagoda (Binh Long pagoda): in Huyen Son commune, Luc Nam province, the pagoda is located on Bat Nha mountain, named by the high monks practicing meditation here, so it is often called Bat Nha pagoda. The pagoda has fallen, the trees are overgrown, the old temple has a large scale, now there is the temple foundation, the ancient well, and the surrounding ancient trees.

Ho Bac Pagoda: in Nghia Phuong commune, Luc Nam, located at an altitude of about 600m, the pagoda was built in the Tran Dynasty, located in the complex of Suoi Mo scenic area, in the middle of immense mountains and forests, the landscape of this meditation place is as beautiful as a mountain. picture. Ho Bac Pagoda has a large lake, surrounded by deep forests and mountains. The temple is completely ruined and has not been restored. Currently, there are only physical vestiges of ancient works such as building materials, bricks, stones, steps…

The ancient and magnificent architectural works of pagodas and towers at that time were well recorded in history books, these are all large temples and had a profound influence on the people in the western Yen Tu region.
