Vinh Long is a province in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Vinh Long is written in Chinese as 永隆 (Eternal in eternity, eternal, meaning forever; Long in solemn, meaning prosperity, wealth). Vinh Long's name expresses the wish that this place will always be prosperous. However, due to not understanding the meaning, Vinh Long was called Vinh Dragon by a part of young people (don't know the meaning of the word Vinh and confused it with the word Long 龍 which means dragon).
