Visit Suoi Tien Waterfall

Van Lang Wards, Dong Hy District, Thai Nguyen province, VietNam

Thai Nguyen is known as a charming land of mountains and rivers, endowed with wonderful landscapes that discover it is really an interesting thing. Besides the famous tourist areas such as: Nui Coc Lake tourist area, Dinh Hoa ATK – ATK Historical – Ecological relic site, Phuong Hoang cave – Mo Ga stream… Thai Nguyen also has many impressive tourist attractions that have not yet been discovered. Many people know it, but that’s why it’s wild, dreamy, full of discovery… Suoi Tien is one of such places.

Suoi Tien belongs to Tan Lap II hamlet, Van Lang commune, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province; About 30km from the center of Thai Nguyen city to the north. From the center of Thai Nguyen city, follow National Highway 1B to km 7 and turn left on the road to Hoa Binh, go through Hoa Binh commune to Van Lang commune, 2km from the center of the commune (with signposts).

Following the signposts and the guidance of the people, following the small road winding through the tea fields and green hills as far as the eye can see, and the peaceful little houses hidden in the immense green, we have find Suoi Tien. Parking at Mr. Lang Van Dinh’s house (the last house adjacent to the stream), we were very fortunate to have Mr. Hoang Van Tuan, a local, as a “guide” to help the group. Walk along the forest path lined with green trees about 400m to the stream. Coming here, we were surprised by the beauty that nature has bestowed on this place. I don’t know who was the first to discover this stream? Perhaps an indigenous person with a knife at his waist, one day he crept to search for bamboo shoots, Searching for fruit in the forest but marveling at the white waterfall that pours from the floor? It is also possible that a couple of villagers once followed in the footsteps of love and led each other to this charming landscape but couldn’t help but come again. So why is the stream called Suoi Tien? ? I asked Mr. Lang Van Dinh, who is a native here, and learned that the stream was called Dat Khe Day before, but later on, more and more tourists came here, in front of the amazing beauty and natural creation. Thought this place might have been a destination for fairies to travel and cool off, so it was named Suoi Tien. The people here also no longer remember when this name Suoi Tien existed and gradually entered their subconscious. So why is the stream called Suoi Tien? Suoi Tien is probably like countless other streams in that the clear water crawls onto the white sand, the small snails cling to the mossy green rock. But Fairy Stream is not like ordinary streams in that there are many rapids that rise to the surface like the backs of giant elephants, there are sections of water that look like a fish with giant scales slithering away. Walking along the stream, I was very impressed by a species of tree that grows a lot on the rocks. Asked Mr. Tuan – the guide, he learned that this is a species of tree. This tree often grows in cool creeks on rocky rapids. Local people often take this tree to burn, drain the water to make banh nang with a characteristic delicious smell. At the end of spring and early summer coming here, we will feel a space of golden flowers of Doc Ma. A truly picturesque scene.

Fairy Stream

Following the stream through small waterfalls of white foam and then deep pools of water, we soon reached the highest and strongest waterfall of the stream. It can be called a silver waterfall, not wrong because the water flows from a height of about 2 dozen meters, spreading about 3 – 4m on the rocks, white foam. Below that is a natural bath, clear blue water see through the bottom, there are small fish swimming around in the tub that looks really pleasing to the eye. Do you dare to immerse yourself in that waterfall? There’s nothing scary about it. Just a few slithers, you can enjoy the feeling of immense joy when lying in the middle of the silver water without being able to hold back a shout sent to the towering mountain in front of you as a thank you to the generous nature.

Thai Nguyen tourist destination

Come here, even though it’s sunny outside, but just sitting for a few minutes on this rocky rapids, you will feel a little cold, fatigue disappears and your legs want to continue. At first, we thought that this silver waterfall was the source of the stream, but that was not the case. Under the guidance of Mr. Tuan, following the trails of hoes that people had already beaten, we followed the trail and went up another section to see a waterfall, another waterfall and on top is a large natural water tank. I don’t know since when has the water gathered from the ravine, thrown down to make a silver waterfall.

From this silver waterfall, climb about 500m more to reach Bat cave. This trip was guided by a guide, so we were completely assured. Climbing up to the Bat cave, although exhausted, the fatigue quickly passed, leaving only the feeling of conquest. The mouth of the Bat cave is very small, only squeezing people, but when I entered the cave, I was overwhelmed by the cave’s width of about 100m 2, a feeling of coolness, stalactites hanging down with many fancy shapes for visitors to imagine, in the summer water drops through the stalactites falling into the cave, the flashlight shines on the stalactites. glittering reflection. In the cave, there is a well, the water is clear to see the bottom. Especially, this is the residence of the bat population, exploring this cave will give visitors a feeling of excitement at night. After the journey of kilometers to conquer Suoi Tien, Bat Cave, we turned back and entered the house of Mr. Lang Van Dinh, a family of the Nung ethnic group. Stepping into the house on stilts, we were warmly welcomed by the family even though we had never met. Your honesty, kindness and hospitality have created a closeness and familiarity for us like at home. A warm meal, as simple as the people here with very typical “home-grown” dishes such as: steamed hill chicken with lemon leaves, boiled bamboo shoots, wild cilantro and hot yeast wine just cooked in the oven. All have created a drunken leaven for people’s hearts so that I will never forget that place in my mind. While sipping a cup of wine, watching the house on stilts (made 30 years ago), listening to the brothers and sisters tell about the life, culture, and customs of the Nung people is really an attractive thing for them. with me.

Mr. Dinh said: In recent years, the number of tourists coming to Suoi Tien is increasing day by day. In the summer, especially on holidays, the number of tourists can be up to 500 people/day. The local government had to arrange security forces to ensure the safety of visitors. However, it has only developed spontaneously here, so there are no services yet. It is a pity that such an attractive place is left open and unexploited. The authorities and especially the tourism industry of Thai Nguyen province should have a plan to invest, plan, exploit and develop this tourist destination, contributing to creating new attractive destinations for Thai Nguyen tourism.
