1. Introduction of Hung Yen Street 

Pho Hien  is a famous historical place located on two wards Lam Son and Hong Chau, Hung Yen city. The neighborhood spans about 5km2, was formed around the 13th century and developed into the busiest trading port in the country in the 17th – 18th centuries. 

 

 

At the peak of development,  Hien Hung Yen street  was the center of trade and trade with many countries such as China, France, Portugal, Japan, England, etc. It was estimated that there were about 2000 houses. was built and formed about more than 20 wards to do business and trade.

2. How to move to Hien Hung Yen street? 

Hien Hung Yen  street is about 60km from Hanoi capital. To come here, visitors can use vehicles such as bus, car, motorbike. If you ride a motorbike, from Hanoi, you follow the 5th street to Pho Noi, turn to the 39A street to get to Hung Yen city, continue to move into the inner city to get to Pho Hien. 

 

 

3. The beauty of Hien Hung Yen street 

In the past,  Hien Hung Yen street  was known as “Tieu Trang An”, a place crowded with buyers and sellers, a major trading port of the North. But today when coming to Pho Hien, visitors will feel a very different beauty, peaceful, rustic and extremely nostalgic. 4. Outstanding architectural works in Hien street 

Going down the flow of history,  Hien Hung Yen street  today still retains an ancient architectural complex with more than 60 historical sites, 100 inscriptions and many temples and shrines. In which, Mau Temple, Xich Dang Temple of Literature, Crescent Lake, and Chuong Pagoda are the most prominent destinations. 

 

4.1. Temple of Literature 

Xich Dang Temple of Literature is the most famous tourist attraction in  Hien Hung Yen Street  , built in the early 17th century. In the past, this is the place where incense competitions took place, honoring the wisdom and studious spirit of the local people. The ancient features of the Temple of Literature seem to have been preserved intact after nearly 400 years. 

 

 

Currently  , Xich Dang Temple of Literature  is keeping a number of precious artifacts, of which 9 stone steles honoring 161 university graduates of the old Son Nam town are considered to be of the greatest value. These are works of art carved with patterns of dragons, dragons adoring the moon, unicorns quite delicately and meticulously to every detail. 

 

Today, Xich Dang Temple of Literature has always been the pride of Hung Yen people and has become a cultural tourist attraction attracting a large number of tourists to visit. 

 

 

4.2. Mother Temple

Mau Temple  is a quite famous spiritual tourist spot in Hien Street, every year this place welcomes many tourists to visit and worship. The temple was built in 1278 and is currently located at Bai Say street, Quang Trung ward, Hung Yen city.

 

 

Mother Temple is the place to worship Duong Quy Phi, the last queen of the Song dynasty (China). This is considered a rare difference in Vietnamese temples, showing the friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and China. 

 

 

The temple has an impressive space and architecture hidden under the shadow of three 700-year-old trees reflecting on the romantic Crescent Lake. In 1990, Mau Temple was recognized by the Ministry of Culture and Information as a “artistic architecture” relic. 

 

 

Coming here, visitors can not only worship, pray, express their wishes but also enjoy the peaceful landscape and ancient architecture. Especially at the beginning of the year, Mau Temple is the place where many traditional festivals take place, attracting a lot of tourists. 

 

 

4.3. Temple bell 

Chuong Pagoda  is one of the outstanding monuments in  the architectural complex in Pho Hien Hung Yen . The pagoda was built in the 15th century and was once known as “the most famous Pho Hien” in the Le Dynasty. The bell pagoda has undergone many restorations, but the ancient artistic architecture has always been preserved. 

 

 

In addition to the beautiful architecture of Chuong Pagoda, it is also a place to keep many artifacts of historical value such as: parallel sentences, diaphragms, etc., especially, it is impossible not to mention the stone stele “Kim Chung Tu Thach Bi Ky” built in 1711. On the stele are engraved the names of those who have merit to repair the pagoda and describe the beauty of the streets of Hien Street in the past. 

 

 

With a long history and a system of ancient statues and precious artifacts, Chuong Pagoda has become the most attractive spiritual attraction in Hien street.

 

 

5. Folk festival at Hien Hung Yen street 

Every year in the third lunar month at  Hien Hung Yen street  , there will be folklore festivals held on a large scale with the participation of residents of 12 communes and wards across the city and thousands of visitors from all over the city. from all over the country to attend. 

 

 

The ceremony took place attractively with the procession of palanquins traveling through many main streets and temples and shrines in Pho Hien. 

 

 

The festival took place excitingly with folk games such as cockfighting, boat racing, releasing sky lanterns, tug of war, singing opposites, going to overseas bridges, etc. All of them seemed to want to recreate the bustle and bustle of the street. Hien flourished for a while.

 

After so many years,  Hien Hung Yen street  today is still a historical place storing long-standing cultural values. During the trip, Hien Street promises to be an interesting stop to open up the emotions of nostalgia and peace for visitors.
