Muong Luan tower is an architectural art work worth visiting and researching, belonging to Muong Luan village, Muong Luan commune, Dien Bien Dong district, Dien Bien province. From Dien Bien Phu city, follow Highway 279 to the South, go to Pom Lot junction, turn left to go to Na Sang, cross Keo Lom slope (wind valley), pass Suoi Lu and then go straight to Muong Luan village about 90 km is to arrive.
Muong Luan tower was built at the top of the village at the foot of Hua Ta mountain (watershed mountain). The architectural tower is square, the bottom is big, the top is smaller, the tower pedestal is 1m high, each side is 5.50m, around without decorative patterns, plastered with a layer of mortar from the bottom up to form a stylized lotus. There are 6 layers on top of each other to take the whole tower. The entire 15m high Muong Luan tower is decorated in two parts. The tower’s body from the pedestal upwards has many smooth, overlapping round pedestals combined with embossed and embossed pattern lines represented by stylized birds, flowers and leaves in a harmonious arrangement. In part one, the most prominent is the embossed dragon running around the tower tree, forming a double eight. The four sides of the tower show five pairs of dragons, giving the tower a superficial appearance, both solid and durable.
The second part of the tower tree has two floors and a tower. The sides of each floor are not decorated with patterns but are plastered with plaster, sand lime and molasses. Each building part is enlarged in the middle, the two ends of the fontanel are shaped like a filling. In the middle of the contiguous part of each floor is decorated with patterns and ready-made motifs made of terracotta such as bird’s head, lotus shape, leaf shape, pointed leaf and sun shape. Decorative motifs are connected together to form a harmonious decoration project with a tight layout. Inside the lotus petals, the blade has small mirror pieces attached. In particular, the image of the sun mounted in the middle of the four sides of the tower is also fitted with a mirror so that when the sun shines on the tower, it radiates light in all four directions. Between the second floor and the tower is also shown to be decorated like the first and second floors, but the only difference is that they are miniature to create a gentle and soft beauty.
Muong Luan Tower is like a graceful, gentle girl standing quietly reflecting on the clear Ma river… This is an artistic architectural work symbolizing the solidarity of the nations, especially the tower construction can still be built. Currently, the friendship between Vietnam and Laos has been attached for a long time.
