Pha Din Pass connects the two provinces of Dien Bien – Son La with an altitude of 1,648m above sea level. The pass is also called Pha Din, in the Thai language, Pha means heaven, Din means earth – Pha Din is the place where heaven and earth meet. During the Dien Bien Phu campaign, this pass was subjected to thousands of tons of bombs and bullets pouring down, now it has become a National Monument and one of the “four great peaks” in the Northwest.

At the top of the pass, the temperature is always 5-7 degrees lower than at the foot of the pass and surrounding areas.
In recent years, Pha Din Pass has become an attractive tourist destination attracting many tourists.
Dozens of tourist attractions in the area of the top of the pass in both Dien Bien – Son La provinces have been invested to meet the needs of visitors.

Visitors can also drive to the top of the mountain to admire the majestic beauty of a pass.
Tourists often rank Pha Din Pass in one of the “four great passes” in the Northwest. Next to O Quy Ho Pass, Khau Pha Pass and Ma Pi Leng Pass. Sometimes the pass is ranked in the group of six most impressive passes in Vietnam, including Khau Pha, Hong Thu Man, O Quy Ho, Hai Van and Hon Giao.
