The cluster of Dien Bien Phu victory monuments is the tallest, largest and heaviest group of bronze statues in Vietnam ever. The statue has a height of 12.6m, is cast with 217 tons of bronze, is erected on a 3.6m high pedestal and consists of 12 cutting boards, including those weighing 40 tons. This is the work of sculptor Nguyen Hai, which has been modified from the original to fit a large outdoor space to place the monument.
The Dien Bien Phu victory has passed for more than half a century, but the Victory Monument is still standing in the middle of historical Dien Bien and along with other relics of the old battlefield such as: Hill A1, Muong Thanh Bridge, Him Lam , Doc Lap, Ban Keo, Muong Phangβ¦.
